I need a side dish to go with Swedish meatballs? - swedish meatballs

Tonight at dinner, I make Swedish meatballs on top of egg noodles. Which court would go with a meal like this?

Now usually get steamed carrots or green like spinach with them. I usually make meatballs in Sweden, when I want comfort food, then use a hot plant is still a little "light".

Nice salad

Lettuce, red onion balsamic

3 small red onions
1 / 4 cup + 2 tablespoons of good tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 cup olive oil of good
1 1 / 2 c. Tea kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
6 tablespoons finely chopped shallots (2 large)
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 / 4 cup of good red wine vinegar
2 heads red leaf, washed, spun dry and torn into pieces.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Cut the onions into 1 / 2 and cut 1/4-inch square, thick on a baking sheet and throw with:
1 / 4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1 / 4 cup olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 / 2 teaspoon pepper.

They are soft bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the onions.

Remove from the oven and pull with 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar and cool to room temperature.

Whisk shallots, mustard, red wine vinegar, 1 / 2 teaspoon salt and 1 / 2 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl. While whisking, add 3 / 4 cup olive oil until emulsified.

To assemble, remove the salad for 6 people with dressing to taste. PInstallation of salad on 6 plates and arrange the onions on top. Season with salt and pepper and serve.

Dinner Salad Recipe


Feta-Dill Dressing:
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 / 4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 / 4 cup feta cheese
1 / 2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Salad:
1 / 4 cup diced Canadian bacon (6 oz)
2 tomatoes, big steak, minced
1 small red onion, cut into thin slices
1 lettuce, cut into 8 pieces


Dressing:
In a small bowl, combine the dill, vinegar and oil. Turn off the feta cheese. Season with pepper. Set aside until ready to dress salad.
Salad:
Fry Canadian bacon in a nonstick pan, 10 cm over medium heat until crispy, about 3 minutes. Remove bacon with a paper towel lined plate to drain.

In each order of 4 salad plates, alternating layers: sliced tomatoes, oniumN slices and wedges of lettuce. Sprinkle with Canadian bacon vinaigrette and divide evenly among salads. Serve immediately.

It is a very heavy and filling on their own meals, so they simply a nice green salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar with it.

Use simple white rice, garnished with sweet and sour sauce. Sause, you can get a bottle in the store for $ 2

Optional: garnish with chives or scallions.
